What is the difference?

You may hear this service referred to as:

✔ Mole Mapping

These terms are often used interchangeably. At Sunstate Family Practice, we use the name Total Body Mapping (TBM) to describe our advanced total body photography service combined with expert skin examination and long-term monitoring.

Why People Choose Mole Mapping & Advanced Total Body Photography

You’ve got lots of moles or freckles, and it’s hard to remember what’s changed and what hasn’t.
You’ve had heavy sun exposure over the years, whether through work, sport, hobbies, or just a love of the sun.
You’ve got a personal or family history of melanoma and prefer closer monitoring of your skin.
Your GP suggested it to support follow-up planning and ongoing monitoring.

Some areas are hard to see, such as the back, shoulders, and scalp. TBM means like-for-like photos can be reviewed between visits.

What You Get With Mole Mapping & Total Body Photography

When you book TBM alongside your skin check, you leave with practical tools that make the next visit easier:

A Clear Baseline

You’ve got lots of moles or freckles, and it’s hard to remember what’s changed and what hasn’t.

Context in Your Notes

Your GP adds monitoring notes linked to images – what’s new, what’s unchanged, and what to watch.

A Plan You Understand

Before you go, your GP explains what to watch for, when to come back, and what would prompt an earlier review.

Secure Storage

Images are date-stamped and stored with your medical record, not on personal devices.
