Patient Feedback Survey

2026 Patient Feedback Survey

Thank you to everyone who completed our recent Patient Satisfaction Survey. We value your feedback and use it to continually improve the care and service we provide.

You told us we could improve in these areas:

Seeing your preferred GP

We know how important it is to see the doctor you know and trust. While our reception team always offers appointments with your usual GP, some of our doctors are booked several weeks or months in advance.

What we’re doing:

  • Increasing availability where possible so doctors can see more of their own patients for urgent concerns.
  • Encouraging patients to book routine appointments well in advance to secure their preferred doctor, day and time.
  • Ensuring continuity of care through clinical handover when your usual GP is unavailable. If needed, another doctor at the practice can safely assist you.

Understanding our fees

Although this was one of our most improved areas, we recognise there is still some confusion regarding after-hours fees and procedure costs.

What we’re doing:

  • Continuing to provide fee information on our website and at reception.
  • Ensuring patients are advised of applicable after-hours surcharges when booking.
  • Reinforcing our fee policy with nurses, doctors and all team members.
  • Investigating additional prompts during the online booking process to better inform patients of any fees before confirming an appointment.

Waiting times

While waiting times have improved, we understand that delays can still occur, particularly when doctors are managing unexpected emergencies or patients with complex health needs.

What we’re doing:

  • Reviewing appointment schedules to improve access for urgent, preventative and chronic disease appointments.
  • Review and adjust appointment templates for doctors who run behind at times due to the complexity of their consultations.

How you can help:

  • Book routine appointments 1-2 weeks in advance where possible.
  • Ask to be placed on our cancellation list if you would like an earlier appointment.
  • Please provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel your appointment so another patient can be seen.
  • If you have more than one issue to discuss, please book a longer appointment. This helps your GP provide you with the best possible care while keeping appointments running on time.

Your ongoing relationship with your GP is important to us. Sometimes multiple health concerns are best managed over more than one consultation to ensure each issue receives the attention it deserves.

What we’re doing well

We’re pleased that many patients told us we are exceeding expectations in the following areas:

  • Ease of making an appointment (online, by phone and in person)
  • Time available during consultations, including access to longer appointments when required
  • Comfortable and welcoming waiting areas and consulting rooms
  • Doctors and staff who listen, communicate well and make patients feel safe expressing their concerns
  • Overall quality of care

We’re especially proud that so many of you said you would recommend Sunstate Family Practice & Skin Cancer Clinic to your family and friends.
