RACGP GP REGISTRAR TRAINING PRACTICE
Sunstate Family practice & Skin Cancer Clinic is proud to be a GP training practice, supporting young doctors in the ways of being a good doctor.
Sunstate Family Practice & Skin Cancer Clinic is involved in the RACGP Registrar Training Program offering professional supervision and teaching to registrars in their final years of training. During a GP Registrar’s placement at Sunstate, they practice under the supervision of our Primary Supervisor Dr Ganter, and additional Supervisors Dr Vu and Dr Haller, who also enjoy sharing their knowledge and experience with young GP’s. Registrar training placements commence in January each year, which is when our registrars sometimes need to move on from Sunstate to complete their training at another practice.
APPOINTMENTS
We allow 15 minutes for standard appointments. To maintain our quality of service and minimise wait times, ensure you request a long appointment (30 mins) for more than one issue.
Please inform the reception staff if you are having a procedure, skin check, immunisation, full medical or if more than one of your family members need to be seen. To enable appropriate triage, please inform reception staff if you are unwell, experiencing chest pain or any other urgent problem.
Our practice goes to all lengths to ensure that appointments run on time but emergencies make this unavoidable at times.
Please advise our reception staff if an interpreter is required for your appointment.
Make an appointment by calling (07) 3207 7744 or book online using the system above.
If you have an urgent problem please let us know and we will fit you in accordingly.

FEES & BILLING ARRANGEMENTS
At Sunstate Family Practice & Skin Cancer Clinic, we are committed to providing the highest standard of medical care for our community. We also understand that the cost of healthcare can be challenging, and we are mindful of the impact that out-of-pocket fees have on families and individuals.
From 1 October 2025, there will be an adjustment to our fee schedule to help us maintaining the level of service you expect.
- The standard consultation fee (Medicare item 23) will be $104 for all patients.
- Children aged 12 and under will be bulk billed for consultations between 8am & 5pm, Monday to Friday (excluding Telehealth).
- Outside these times (before 8am and after 5pm weekdays and on Saturdays), children aged 12 & under will be billed at the standard fee.
- Patients aged 13 years and older will be charged the standard fee.
We are pleased to return to bulk billing for younger children during regular weekday hours, but we want to be transparent: this arrangement may not be able to continue indefinitely. Future bulk billing availability will depend on any changes the government makes to Medicare rebates and the sustainability of our practice costs.
We will keep you informed of any further changes as they arise and encourage you to speak with our reception team in you have a questions about rebates, fees or payment options. We strongly advise that all couples and families register for the Medicare Safety Net to minimise your out of pockets expenses.
We greatly value the trust you place in us to care for you and your family, and thank you for your ongoing support as we continue to provide quality healthcare to our community.
